Cookies + Basketball + Magic Trees

Cello practice.

These cookies are reminiscent of the ones my mom used to make. Hannah dubbed them Cosmic Crackers and they're gluten free saltines with peanut butter in the middle and then dipped in chocolate.

Christmas break!

These are a gluten free version of Cinnamon Cookies. My grandma used to make them and I used her cookie press in this process. I might play with the recipe a little more next year to try to get the shapes to hold more. Gluten free ingredients don't work the same...

We went on a Magic Tree tour. This one is "the big one."

It's size is impressive, but we like the little one near our house better because you can stand under it and surround yourself with the lights...

...see!? And the lights are different sizes and types.

It's happened. The boy is the tallest in the family. He's 6'1" and 3/4.

Christmas Tree + Christmas Party

Mason and I decided to go out to brunch like adults before we went to the middle school to see Zane's science presentation. It was delectable.

The 8th grade boys had a 3 day tournament in Centralia, which is only half an hour away, but when you go there 3 nights during the school week on top of all the normal life stuff that needs to happen, it's a lot. But it was worth it because they came home with 1st place!

Found it! Zane is under it cutting it down.

We took her home and got her all set up...and then noticed that the trunk was a bit crooked and it took a lot of finagling to get her in the base.

We persevered!

She's just a little crooked from the side - hahaha!

Hannah had her first middle school orchestra concert. She was the cello section leader! We're so proud of her and her musical talents!!

This year our friend who normally hosts the Christmas party couldn't because 2 of her kids are getting married...so Mason and I hosted instead! Hannah made the label for the holiday cocktail - hahaha!

I made a game of Family Feud and got to be Steve Harvey.

We did a White Elephant gift exchange and hilarity ensued. 

Hannah decorated her new toilet seat with chocolate sauce!
