Tulips + Muffins + Meteor Showers

Hannah captured a picture of Ozzy invading Zane's personal space. This dog does not know how to socially distance!
We sent the kiddos on a walk with the dog to the tiny park by our house to forage for wild green onions for our Totchos for dinner. There was definitely some grass mixed in, but I'd say the majority was onion.
Our first Zoom with Grandpa Hal and Grandma! Thanks to Adam and Erica for being with them to set it up and to Erica for sending this photo to me.
People are getting creative with how to celebrate kids birthdays. We drove by our friend's house to wave...with Hannah sticking out the sun roof and Zane out the side window. We were going 3 mph! We stopped to talk from our car for a little bit and the kids dad handed us individually wrapped cookies with the aid of a grabber - haha!
A Rippey Zoom session. It was great to see everyone!
Our outdoor pets are back. The biggun was out sunning.
A daddy daughter spa session with face masks and a good foot soak.
On the way back from dropping my van off at the shop (I think it's fixed for real this time!) we stopped at the Shelter Gardens to see the tulips. There were beautiful.

 Koi pond too.
Ozzy waits to be let in...the screen was open.
Oma made us some awesome face masks!
Hannah and I made blackberry muffins.
 YUM!
On the 22nd we got up at 4am to see if we could catch the Lyrid Meteor Shower. We drove out to Eagle Bluffs for optimum darkness, sat in our camp chairs wrapped in blankets, and sipped our cocoa. Everyone saw at least a couple and it was SO COOL!! The below graphic was where the meteors were supposed to be in relation to the Lyra constellation. We found Vega, but found that the brightest meteors we saw were to the left of Vega instead of the right.
After coming home taking naps, lounging around, and having lunch, we rallied and made some art based on what we saw that morning. They're pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
 Hannah + Ozzy snuggles.
Geared up for the grocery store. I never thought going to the grocery store could be stressful...but here we are.
Hannah made a lava light that her teacher showed the class how to make in one of their Zoom meetings. To make it you need vegetable oil, water, food coloring, and alka selzer.
 Fort!
I bought a big 'ol loaf of bread because it was only $1. Zane made his own sandwich. Seems we need to either work on portion control, cutting skills, or both - haha! He ate it all though!!

Moose Explosion

Ozzy does laps around Zane while Zane breaks in the new hammock that the Easter bunny brought.
We went and picked up some clothes from a classmate of Zane's for Hannah. She left them in bags on her porch and we went and got them with zero contact and washed everything when we got home. Hannah left this thank you note: Dear Socie, thank you for the hamie downs! I really like your style! I want to be your book buddy so bad! I love getting hamie downs so much! - Love Hannah  Complete with a photo of a unicorn wearing hand me downs. I love it!
We made a big thank you card to hang on our garage for all the essential workers, such as doctors (one lives across the street), nurses, grocers, sanitation workers, postal workers, veterinarians, police, and firemen. Thank you for working so we can stay home and be safe!
Mason has started going into the office in Moberly twice a week and Ozzy is irked he was not consulted about this change. There is only one other person in the office so it's easy to socially distance.
Zane's debut single has arrived! He came up with the concept for the cover art and helped with the text in Photoshop. Click HERE to listen!
This is an exploding moose that Zane drew while we were spitballing ideas for the video.
People are taking "front porch photos" to document their time of quarantine. My neighbor and I took some for each other. It was cold this morning (33 degrees)!!
I told them to huddle up like we haven't been spending every waking moment together for this one - hahahah..ugh. I think the pics turned out great and it was motivation to clean the front door, which has happened never since we moved in 4 years ago.
My ladies from work and I got together to pay a visit to the other member of our team just to say We Miss You! It was GREAT to see them. I miss them. We brought a sign, pizza, and flowers, shared a few laughs and then went back home.

Bunny Bunny Bunny

Birthdays during this time are hard. We haven't had to deal with that yet, but a few of my friends have. For one, they requested that people write jokes for their kid...we chose to also illustrate ours since we had some time on our hands. Here they are:
1) A slice of apple pie is $2.50 in Jamaica and $300 in the Bahamas.  These are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
2) What do you call a dinosaurs morning breath? Exticts.
3) Why aren't astronauts hungry after blasting into space? Because they had a big launch.
4) What do you call a pony with a sore throat? A little horse.
Pysanky Easter Egg time! Ozzy really wanted to help.

Hannah received an amazing painting from her cousin, Kenzie!!
Hannah has been hard at work recording her first single, entitled Bunny Bunny Bunny. She wrote the lyrics herself and this catchy little tune has been stuck in my head for days! Click HERE to hear the song and see the video.
The cover art.
We decided Easter donuts were in order.
We are all ready for the Easter bunny! Hannah was gifted a paper flower making kit from a neighbor and her creations make an excellent center piece.

The kids woke us up at 7 (because we forbade them from waking us any earlier) and were done hunting for eggs in 7 minutes. We quickly moved on to donut sugar bombs.
This is the adult version. These have maple glaze on them...so good!
A mystery bunny left this basket of treats on our porch!! Homemade break and some other goodies.
To walk off our morning indulgences, we took a hike at a new park. It's not that far from our house, but it's in a new housing development and we'd never heard of it before. We did not see another person the whole time!

 We fjorded a creek.

The path ended at the river so we turned around and took the other fork.

There ended up being some elevation!

 This tree says "stay away!"
