Second Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 2nd anniversary! We found a hotel right on the ocean that we LOVE called the Surfsand. It's literally right on the ocean and has every ammenity to ensure a relaxing getaway.

Haystack Rock, from the Goonies movie, was the view from our porch.

Virgil had a great time running in the surf, meeting other dogs, and finding the perfect dead seagull to roll in.
Mason gave me what is quite possibly THE BEST present EVER: A snuggie!

That night we were lying on the awesome tempurpedic bed watching the news and the top story was "Tsunami warning for Oregon Coast!" We'd heard nothing about this!! Why hadn't the hotel called our room?!? But we soon realized that it was only an advisory, which meant we shouldn't go in the water due to strong rip tides and undercurrents. But for a brief second it was a bit scary!

The Pacific Northwest Rippey's enter blogging world!

Everyone else is doing it, so why not us! Plus, we're about 2 weeks out from having our first little munchkin and what better way to keep people informed...and this way you can check at your leisure instead of being bombarded by the thousands of photos we're sure to take. Our official due date is Oct. 8 but Mason's spidey sense is telling him sooner. Of course we will update everyone as soon as the big day arrives.

So 2 weeks away and Mason and I are as ready as 2 nervous and excited parents-to-be possibly can be. Extra diapers - check, car seat - check, crib- check (thanks to the Lupton's!). While Mason is busy at work bringing home the dough, I spend my days arranging and rearranging pretty much everything in the house. I also make lists of tasks for Mason to do before baby arrives (he loves it). He is doing an awesome job of being supportive of me and all my neurosis! On Tuesday we're headed to the Oregon coast to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and indulge in some much needed R&R.

Our dog, Virgil, is also busy getting ready for little man's arrival. Mostly his self-appointed duty is not letting me out of his site. He's also very attentive if I make any sort of grunting noise, which is often these days since getting off the couch, turning over in bed, or climbing the stairs has become quite the accomplishment.

A few weeks ago our good friend Jaden took some maternity photos of us at Laurelhurst Park here in Portland and we love, love, LOVE them! These were all taken at 35 weeks (we're now at 38) Here's the link to all of them: http://damaskphotography.com/rippeys
